Tomorrow marks the 33rd annual Marion County Chili Cook-Off, located at the Southeastern Livestock Pavilion on 2232 NE Jacksonville Rd in Ocala. This year, we at Tallen Builders are proud sponsors of the event, and we can’t wait to start tasting!
Each contender will have a themed booth where guests can try 1 oz cups of chili for 25 cents each or 3 oz cups for 75 cents. Don’t forget to put your vote in for the People’s Choice Award! At the end of the event, a panel of community leaders and professionals will choose the best chili.
Teams are formed by local businesses, friends and families who like a little friendly competition and bragging rights. The cash prize doesn’t hurt either. There will be live entertainment, including local musicians and entertainers, as well as a children’s play area with games, bounce houses and face painting.
Baked goods, burgers and hot dogs will also be available for those who need a break from the spicy heat. At just $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and $1 for kids, this event can’t be beat. Join us between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. for a day the whole family will enjoy.
